Sacramento Dog Photographer

Frequently Asked Questions

What is minimalist photography?

Minimalist photography focuses on simplicity and essential elements. Using seamless paper backgrounds, we create timeless portraits where your dog is the only focus, highlighting their unique personality without distractions.

What's included in my session?

Our sessions include high-resolution retouched images and a personalized online gallery showcasing your dog's images alongside our product collection. Additional images are available for purchase.

What should I bring?

Just bring your dog! We provide small training treats in the studio, though you're welcome to bring your dog's favorites. Our minimalist style highlights your dog's natural beauty without distractions. We have curated studio accessories available if a simple prop would enhance your dog's portrait.

Can I be in photos with my dog?

Yes, but only in our Signature sessions. We recommend wearing neutral colors (creams, soft earthy tones, grays, or blacks) to maintain our classic aesthetic.

How do you handle nervous or energetic dogs?

We take our time, follow your dog's lead, and include plenty of breaks. We're experienced with all temperaments and never rush—the best portraits happen when your dog feels comfortable.

What if my dog doesn't behave perfectly?

Don't worry! Some of the most endearing portraits come from spontaneous moments. If needed, you can reschedule.

Where are you located?

Our intimate Carmichael studio is conveniently located just 20 minutes from Sacramento, serving dog families throughout the greater Sacramento area including Folsom, Fair Oaks, Granite Bay, El Dorado Hills, and East Sacramento. The studio creates a quiet environment where dogs feel secure, with parking available right outside, Starbucks across the street, and a dog park next door.

Do you photograph multiple dogs together?

Yes! The Ninety session includes up to 2 dogs from the same household. The Thirty session is ideal for one dog, with additional dogs at $25 each. All sessions can include both individual and group portraits when multiple dogs are photographed.

Do you offer special occasion sessions?

We celebrate milestones with handcrafted party hats and elegant portraiture. A small celebratory cupcake can be incorporated to mark the special occasion.

Do you offer sessions for senior and sick dogs?

Yes, we provide gentle care and create thoughtful portraits to honor your dog. Choose either our Ninety or Thirty experience based on your dog's comfort level.

What finished artwork do you offer?

Our curated collection includes museum-quality prints, elegant wall art, and handcrafted albums from the world's finest professional labs. Browse options through your personalized gallery.

Do you offer monochrome portraits?

Yes! Any portrait can be provided in both color and monochrome at no additional cost upon request.

Is there a sales meeting after my session?

No. We believe in letting you browse your personalized gallery at home at your own pace with no in-person pressure sales. We're available to help with selections, but there are no sales meetings or purchase requirements.

How long until I see my photos?

Your personalized gallery will be ready within 1-2 weeks of your session, depending on the time of year. Galleries remain active for two weeks from delivery, after which they're archived. We recommend downloading your favorites and placing any print orders during the initial two-week period. If you need your gallery reactivated after this period, there's a $25 fee for an additional two-week access period.
