My Dog is a Supermodel

Earlier this month, we announced our first merchandise collection with a simple but powerful message: My Dog is a Supermodel. Our collection features limited edition canvas tote bags in natural cotton with our signature supermodel design.

The response has been incredible, and I wanted to share the thinking behind this concept.

I've been reflecting on how we see our dogs. We call them "good boys" and "good girls" - but that doesn't capture the truth of who they really are. Dogs have that natural presence that makes you stop scrolling, makes strangers cross the street just to say hello, makes your heart skip when they look at you in just the right light. They're naturally photogenic from every angle, with that rare combination of confidence and vulnerability that's impossible to fake.

This realization has shifted how I approach dog photography. Instead of trying to get dogs to "perform" for the camera, I capture who they already are - natural born stars who just happen to have four legs and wet noses.

Every session reveals that supermodel quality that's already there. The head tilt that could grace a magazine cover. The soulful gaze that tells a story. The authentic energy that can't be manufactured.

Dogs move through the world completely, authentically themselves. No pretense, no insecurity - just pure being. That's what great models do too.

Our limited edition supermodel tote bags will be available at the Barks + Brews Summer Series on August 16th at Swoon Studio + Co. in Folsom - limited quantity available at $25 each while supplies last. For those new to our studio, join us for our Open Studio Sessions on August 17th at our Carmichael studio to experience what we're all about - plus Dogs on Paper swag for the first 10 arrivals!
